Bulbs & Coffee arrive Monday!

The fundraiser orders for Flower Bulbs and Coffee will arrive around noon on Monday, Oct. 11th. Students will be able to pick up their order at the end of the day Monday. Let Mrs. Schack know if you have any questions or concerns.

UNI Vocal Arts Festival 2010

Reid, Ellen, and Christian recently participated at the UNI Vocal Arts Festival in Cedar Falls.

They performed the All-State music as a practice before the big auditions in two weeks.

Congrats on a great performance and good luck at auditions!!!

"Blackbird" Assignment due Sept. 30

High School Chorus Students:

• Scroll to the bottom of this page and watch the three YouTube videos of "Blackbird" performed by Paul McCartney, Sarah McLachlan, and Bobby McFerrin
• After watching the videos, fill in the answers on your homework sheet. Write full descriptions and sentences!!! I want you to think out of the box. Compare and contrast, use what you know, and try to learn things you don't know.
• The assignment is worth 15 points - 5 points per question. You will earn a maximum of 10 points if within 2 days late. You will earn 0 points after two days.

Assignment questions:

1. Describe the vocal style used in McCartney and McLachlan's videos. What vocal qualities do they have? Do they sound similar or different?
2. Explain what Bobby McFerrin is trying to do. Do you like the sound he produces?
3. Choose your favorite video/voice and explain why it is your favorite.
